A People's History Lookshelf

1) Who are you and where are you?
I'm a PhD in literature student living outside Los Angeles, CA.

2) What do you do for work?
Right now my studies are my work, though I've taught freshmen composition at a local university.

3) What do you do for fun?
For fun, I walk, go to movies with my husband, and travel in between semesters.

4) Tell me something about your bookshelves.
These are just a few of my bookshelves. There are bookshelves in nearly every room in my house and in my garage (which we call "The Annex"). They are all double stacked and in  varying states of unorganized confusion.

5) Tell me something about ONE of the books on your shelf.
Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States changed forever the way I look at American history. Literature and history often work hand-in-hand to provide a window into past eras and Zinn's People's History reads like good literature. Zinn's recent death is very sad. He will be missed.

The interesting information, the tonic on a note! These are just a few of my bookshelves. There are bookshelves in nearly every room in my house and in my garage (which we call "The Annex"). They are all double stacked and in varying states of unorganized confusion.
