A Hegemonic Romance (!) Lookshelf

 

 

 

1) Who are you and where are you?

Mai Lor, new york city

2) What do you do for work?

Graduate student, budding social scientist.

3) What do you do for fun?

Try to save the world through policy research and practical idealism.

4) Tell me something about your bookshelves.

It's small because i couldn't afford to ship all my books out to new york city, where i am currently studying. The rest of my books are hidden in boxes in my mom's basement.

5) Tell me something about ONE of the books on your shelf.


My first boyfriend I ever had read Native Son (by Richard Wright) with me when we were 17. We would discuss race dynamics and hegemonic power for hours on the phone.
